As a Porter at dnata Catering, your primary focus will be on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and organizing the dishroom, coolers, utility area, restrooms, and transportation areas. You will be responsible for tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and ensuring that all areas are kept tidy and presentable. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will contribute to creating a safe and sanitary environment for both employees and customers. Additionally, you will collaborate with the team to ensure efficient operations and uphold dnata's high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.

You Will

  • Follow established rules of the facility for entry to building and work areas, properly attired and in compliance with HACCP guidelines for personal hygiene and observe security precautions as mandated by facility management.
  • Comply with company implemented sanitation Standard Operating Procedures including the company’s HACCP Plan and Good Manufacturing Practices which maintains the company’s compliance with USDA regulations.
  • Clean and sanitize all interior areas within the facility and external property.
  • Handle the disposal of all waste products. International trash and garbage to be disposed of according to regulations.
  • Ensure that spills are promptly mopped up and floors are kept dry and decreased to minimize slips and falls due to wet floors.
  • Use proper detergents and degreasing solvents to maintain a safe working environment for all production areas and maintain use and proper storage of sanitation chemicals and equipment.
  • Sanitize all restrooms and areas of common personnel traffic, including walls and floors.
  • Empty and clean refuse containers and dispose of refuse in proper bins for later removal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by unit Supervisors.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring that all Sanitation Team Members possess and demonstrate the knowledge to follow all applicable chemical safety and food safety procedures.
  • This position is responsible for developing a sanitation schedule to meet the Sanitation SOP frequency.

Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate will lead employees to ensure compliance with all safety, company, and regulatory procedures. In addition, ensuring that the sanitation process meets all FDA and/or USDA and internal requirements.
  • The individual will ensure that the sanitation SOP is being followed and all activities are documented per company policy.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures and HACCP.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned by unit Supervisors.

You Have

EDUCATION: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years’ experience in cleaning/ housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial experience

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to deal with a heavy workload.
  • Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks.

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly. 

 

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

 

Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
