Key Responsibilities

As the Receiving Clerk Lead at dnata Catering, you will play a vital role in our supply chain operations. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the receiving, inspecting, and recording of incoming shipments of food, beverages, and other supplies. Your keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will ensure that all items meet our quality standards and are appropriately stored. In this leadership role, you will collaborate with various departments to resolve discrepancies or issues with deliveries, ensuring a seamless flow of goods that enables us to deliver exceptional dining experiences to airline passengers worldwide.

You Will

  • Lead the acceptance of deliveries from suppliers, ensuring accuracy and quality by checking against purchase orders, identifying broken or missing items, and completing necessary documentation.
  • Supervise the breakdown of skids and the proper storage of raw materials.
  • In a timely manner, ensure requisitions from stock/warehouse are filled accurately, including food and non-food items, dry and wet goods.
  • Oversee the restocking, movement, and rotation of stock within storage areas, both refrigerated and non-refrigerated.
  • Manage the breakdown of refuse containers for proper disposal.
  • Maintain clean and organized storage areas daily, addressing spills and breakages promptly.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment by collaborating with staff at all levels and providing mentorship where needed.
  • Promote safety in the workplace to prevent accidents for yourself and coworkers.
  • Assist with inventory checks and audits when required
  • Ensure compliance with all HACCP, GMP, and proper food handling policies and procedures.
  • Assist in packing racks and ovens as needed.
  • Keep all walk-in storage areas organized and clean.
  • Take responsibility for receiving all goods into the unit and ensuring proper storage.
  • Support kitchen staff in obtaining necessary items efficiently.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are completed accurately.

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package. 

You Have

EDUCATION: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience entering data into an ERP system.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and LIFO/FIFO practices.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated storage areas.
  • Physical strength to move stock on flat surfaces and up inclined ramps; experience with hand trucks, lifts, and pallet movers is required.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Basic math skills for adding, multiplying, subtracting, and dividing.
  • Prior warehouse or storeroom experience is essential.

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.

 Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

 Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
