Key Responsibilities as a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager for dnata Catering, you will oversee a team consisting of a Food Safety and Quality Insurance Supervisor and multiple Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technicians. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality throughout the catering operations. You will implement comprehensive food safety programs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. Regular inspections and audits will be conducted to identify and address any potential risks or issues. You will also supervise the Food Safety and Quality Insurance Supervisor and Technicians, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities. This includes training them on proper hygiene and handling practices, as well as ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures. Collaborating with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients, addressing customer concerns promptly, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives are also part of your role. Overall, your expertise will contribute to maintaining a safe and quality-driven environment at dnata Catering in the aviation catering facility.

You Will

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and implement training needs of the facilities personnel including the GMP, HACCP, Allergen, and training programs ensuring they have the required competencies to carry out the functions affecting product legality, safety, and quality.
  • Responsible for the ingredient specification program, supplier vendor program, regulatory 3rd party audit program, labeling program, pre/post inspection program, verification, and validation program retain sample program and code date adherence program.
  • Facilitate as the SQF Practitioner and SQF training team leader.
  • Conduct audits of vendor facilities and product ingredients.
  • Conduct management training regarding FSQ requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Review reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and corrective actions to resolve deficiencies; ensure appropriate actions are taken on a timely basis.
  • Audit “Good Manufacturing Process” training and compliance for the facility.
  • Oversee that FDA/Medina and standard requirements are documented to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure regular audits of sanitation requirements are maintained in all areas of the facility.
  • Passing and improving audit results related to Food Safety Quality.
  • Achievement of corporate objectives for corporate policies and goals.
  • Consistently set expectations and hold subordinates accountable for key duties and standards.
  • Ensure all FSQ required standards are followed and verify documentation compliance.

Nonessential functions:

  • Other duties as assigned.

You Have

EDUCATION: B.S. in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Science, or another related technical degree.

  • 3-5 years of experience in the food industry.
  • Experience in an SQF facility is a plus.
  • Can motivate and build a team.
  • Have good communication skills both written and oral.
  • Computer literacy: knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required.

 

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.

 

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

 

Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
