Responsibilities include P&L analysis, cost monitoring, variance analysis, forecasting, month end closing, inventory management and reconciliations for sales, purchases and payables to the ledger.

You Will

  • Provide support to general manager with all aspects of finance and costs to help drive profitability; provide analysis on improving operational performance
  • Update and maintain weekly forecast; prepare yearly unit budget and monthly/quarterly reforecasts; investigate variances to budget and forecast
  • Communicate accounting and operations processes with team and monitor adherence
  • Determine the costs and efficiency of company purchasing, billing, labor and operational expense activities
  • Help develop strategic staffing plan to flex headcount based on seasonality in real time; prepare daily and weeky hours analysis to monitor labor cost
  • Monitor material purchases with team to ensure adherence to budget
  • Prepare documents and interpret financial information regarding cost improvements for unit team members, managers, and executives as needed
  • Assist with internal and external audits and general ledger preparation; perform operational audits (i.e. portioning to spec audit, inventory counts, bill of material, waste)
  • Facilitate the month end closing timely and accurately in accordance to GAAP/IFRS; prepare month end accruals

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

You Have

EDUCATION: Associates in Accounting, B.S. in Accounting or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 3 years in a similar role in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis

  • Manufacturing experience and/or Food Processing industry a plus
  • Sound planning and organizational skills, be detail orientated and be able to multi task
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and develop staff
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel
  • Experienced in the use of an ERP systems

Intellectual/Social demands:

 

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly. Follows through on tasks given and goes above and beyond in delivering internally as well to external parties.

 

Physical demands:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

 

Work environment:

 

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
