POSITION SUMMARY We recruit the best, international talent and invest in their ongoing development, through training and mentoring, and by providing opportunities to work across our global network. dnata catering US is looking for a Corporate Controller to join its finance department. This role functions as business partner to Senior Management by providing effective guidance and financial counseling to control business performance. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, cost controlling, financial analysis, cost accounting, financial reporting, and inventory management. The position will be based in White Plains, NY.

You Will

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare long-term strategic plans, annual budgets, and short-term forecasts.
  • Timely and accurately report current month’s financial results and in compliance with GAAP and IFRS
  • Provide financial analysis, interpretation, and recommendations to the senior management team that contribute to meeting the financial performance targets.
  • Monitor monthly performance versus budget, forecast and strategic plan and prepare financial reporting package.
  • Coordinate, collect and analyze real-time financial performance indicators and metrics from the units, e.g. weekly flash report.
  • Review labor, material and operating expenses and ensure costs accurately reflect production operations.
  • Provide insight and recommendations regarding operating cost management.
  • Work with operating department heads in reviewing targets versus actual performance and identifying areas of opportunities.
  • Review customer profitability at the unit level and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist with the preparation of business cases for complex projects, capital investments and new business opportunities.
  • Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results, investigate, and explain book to physical adjustments.
  • Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
  • Perform audits of bills of materials to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly.
  • Implement procedures and internal controls to ensure integrity of accounting records and safeguarding of assets.
  • Worked closely with internal and external auditors through specials as well as year-end audits.
  • Assist in the completion of special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Lead, develop and support finance staff at the corp and unit level.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package. $120,000.00 - $150,000.00

You Have

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred. With 5-10 years as controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment, managing a staff, with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated leadership as part of a cross-functional management team.
  • Manufacturing experience and/or Food Processing industry a plus
  • Proven ability to manage and develop staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound planning and organizational skills, be detail orientated and be able to multitask.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically in Excel
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and oral
  • High level of proficiency in the use of an ERP systems
  • Some local travel may be required.

 

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
