As an HR Generalist at dnata Catering, an innovative catering company, your role is integral to the success of the organization's human resource’s function. The Human Resources Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support in the areas of employee relations, recruitment/staffing, compensation, employment law/compliance, benefits, organizational effectiveness, talent management, and training and development. The Human Resources Generalist will report to the General Manager. The Human Resources Generalist will also work closely with the Corporate HR Team to ensure high quality HR administration.

 

You will be responsible for a wide range of HR duities, ensuring the smooth operation of various HR processes and providing support to both employees and management. Your friendly and approachable nature will enable you to build strong relationships with employees, serving as a trusted point of contact for their HR-related needs. Additionally, your analytical mindset will enable you to analyze HR data, generate reports, and provide insights to inform decision-making.

You Will

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employee Relations: Manage and track internal complaints from notification to resolution. Provide outstanding customer services to employees and coach and/or lend support to inquiries around HR programs and policies.
  • Performance Management: Manage new hire 30/60/90 hourly probationary process as well exempt new hire process.  Ensure annual performance evaluations are conducted timely. Support managers in their ongoing learning to provide the best possible employee experience across the unit.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Responsible for CBA wage increases, ensure annual open enrollment is completed accroding to dnata standards and all new hires complete the benefits enrollment per guidelines. Administer leaves, benefits, ADA accommodations.
  • Recruitment/StaffingResponsible for overseen the delivery of new hire onboarding and meeting all pre- and post-employment requirements such as employment paperwork, lockers, employee badges, uniform, process E-Verify.
  • Training & DevelopmentOversees the delivery of training and development experiences of a variety of soft skills, food safety, and leadership opportunities.Manage all annual trainings, ensure onboarding meets compliance requirements, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, sexual harassment, food safety, safety, DOT and other skills or compliance opportunities.
  • Employment Law/Compliance: Enforce all federal and state statutory requirements and company policies/procedures. 
  • Collective Bargaining/Labor RelationOversees collective bargaining process, grievances, and arbitration and ensures adherence of the CBA.
  • Separation: Conduct exit interviews and other processes related to employees leaving dnata.
  • Company Policy, Mission, Vision, & Values Administration: responsible for enforcing the organizations values across all functions. 
  • Metrics: Manage, and track all payroll, PTO, Sick, and time clock adjustments within ADP. Track unit attrition - implement retention initatives. 
  • Safety: Serve on safety committee, providing insight and guidance from the employee experience perspective. Reponsible for processing WC claims and assist with investigation process related to injuries or vehicles accidents. 

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Culture: Implement the activities supporting employee experience during all facets of the employee life cycle, i.e, event calender, employee of the month, NAJM etc. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package.

You Have

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or related field highly preferred with a minimum of 5 years Generalist experience or Associate's Degree with 7 plus years of relevant experience and certifications. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience of working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines
  • Bilingual (English, Spanish) preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage heavy workloads. Effectively manage conflict situations leading to successfull outcomes.
  • Must be able to work under high pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible schedule as business demands. Regular office attendance required.
  • HR Generalist experience in restaurant, retail or hospitality preferred within a unionized enviroment preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems., i.e. ADP, iCIMS.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlooks. Proficient with excel spreadsheets, formulas, custom reporting, interfaces, and data transfer.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills.
  • Excellent task management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly. 

 

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

 

Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
