We are seeking a dedicated and organized Storeroom Supervisor to join our team at Dnata Catering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the storeroom, ensuring efficient management of stock and inventory, and leading the receiving team to maintain the highest standards of storage and preservation.

You Will

  • Assign daily work tasks to receiving team members to ensure efficient operations.
  • Plan the layout of the stockroom and other storage areas, considering factors such as turnover, size, weight, and related item characteristics.
  • Advise employees on the care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped, including the methods and use of equipment in handling and maintaining stock.
  • Study inventory records and recommend remedial actions for non-usable, slow-moving, and excess stock.
  • Review records for accuracy and compliance with established procedures to determine the adequacy of stock levels.
  • Schedule work for special and periodic inventories to maintain accurate stock assessments.
  • Trace the history of items to identify reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records, recommending actions to resolve these issues.
  • Monitor and ensure the receiving areas and storeroom are secure at all times.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow to enhance productivity.
  • Provide written and oral instructions to team members.
  • Assign duties and examine work for precision, neatness, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency among subordinates.

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package. 

You Have

EDUCATION: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and QuickBooks.
  • Possess strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Have experience with inventory management systems and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in food safety and sanitation standards specific to in-flight catering.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Capable of lifting and moving heavy items as required.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.

 Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

 Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
