Key Responsibilities: As a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Administrator at dnata catering, an innovative catering company, your role is vital in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. You will be responsible for monitoring and implementing various food safety policies, procedures, and protocols to guarantee that all food products meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations. Your creative problem-solving skills will be put to use as you assess potential risks, conduct quality inspections, and develop strategies to enhance overall food safety practices. Your smart and analytical mindset will enable you to identify potential areas of improvement, implement corrective actions, and continuously enhance the quality assurance program. Additionally, your friendly demeanor will allow you to effectively collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams, providing guidance and training on food safety practices. Overall, as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the reputation and success of dnata catering by ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality food to their valued customers.

You Will

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct Operational Sanitation Operating Procedures daily.
  • Verify calibration of thermometers used in production and receiving in accordance with the HACCP plan.
  • Verify all HACCP documentation is completed by cooks, assembly clerks, and receiving clerks are done.
  • Record all production room and cooler temperatures on monitoring log.
  • Monitor the dish room to ensure the proper chemical concentration and sanitizer usage.
  • Verify the calibration of scales on the production room floor in accordance with procedures.
  • Assist in integrating good food handling procedures and HACCP requirements into production’s daily routine.
  • Assist in keeping an up-to-date binder of labels of all food products used in the facility.
  • Responsible for conducting label review to assure ingredients of our products are correct.
  • Work with airline account managers to conduct monthly Chefs Table exercises.
  • Review floor specs to ensure that they are accurate and being followed.
  • Crosscheck recipes, yields and cost information to ensure they are accurately represented.
  • Audit flight packing to ensure that proper loading ratios are followed.
  • Provide feedback to appropriate departments.
  • Conduct disciplinary write-ups as appropriate for failure to adhere to HACCP requirements.

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package. $25.00 per hour

You Have

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in food science or biology preferred. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of experience in the food industry.
  • Food production knowledge. FSMA and GFSI scheme knowledge a plus.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Prior experience with HACCP requirements
  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have good communication skills.

 

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly. 

 

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

 

Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
